Comprehensive Dental Care for the Whole Family

The team at Otter Creek Dental recommends regular six-month visits to monitor your health and prevent any dental issues from arising. These exams give us a comprehensive understanding of both your oral and general health and help us individualize your care so if any issues are discovered, we can catch them early before they become a larger concern.

Dr. Branden and Dr. Taylor will take time to understand your values and dental concerns. Our team will make sure to update your health history to ensure there are no changes that may impact your oral health. Call us today for an appointment!

What to Expect at Your Exam

  • Visual and extraoral exam of face, head, and neck
  • Photos to document smile and any cosmetic concerns
  • Monitor the health of your teeth and gums for any signs of cavities or periodontal issues
  • X-rays (yearly) to assess bone levels and cavities in between the teeth
  • Assess your bite to ensure that your teeth can function properly
  • Oral cancer screening
  • Use of intraoral cameras to help you and the doctor visualize any noted concerns

Oral Hygiene and Cleanings

Our amazing hygienists love to see you twice a year for cleanings! This allows them to focus on your individual concerns and needs. They review your personal oral hygiene habits and assess the health of teeth and gums to help you prevent cavities, gum disease, or other dental problems from occurring or progressing.

Periodontal Therapy

Periodontal disease begins with an infection in your gums, due to bacteria that collects there over time. Periodontal disease affects millions of Americans, with most being unaware of the signs and symptoms. Periodontal disease can have drastic effects on your teeth as well as your overall health, such as being linked to serious medical concerns such as heart disease and diabetes.

Early warning signs:

  • Red, inflamed gums
  • Gums bleed easily or are sensitive when flossing or brushing
  • Bad breath

At your hygiene visits if one of our highly skilled hygienists finds that the health of your gums is worsening, we will be sure to inform you and our doctor team may recommend periodontal therapy. Provided right here at our office, and with the use of local anesthetic, our hygiene team scales the teeth below the gums in order to remove any tartar, plaque, and bacteria. We also recommend use of laser treatment throughout this process.

Following your treatment, a more frequent maintenance schedule may be recommended to ensure your gum health improves and remains stable.
